PINE RIDGE – Saturday night, senior Santana White Dress topped her night off with a steal and a coast to coast dash for two to put her over the top for 1,000 points in her high school career. White Dress had 19 points for the night, pulled down eight rebounds, had seven assists and eight steals.

White Dress made her varsity debut as a freshman, playing with a passion, with a wild and cavalier style that has transcended well for her and the Lady Thorpes as they make a run to their third straight State A tourney. When Santana was a sophomore, the team took sixth at state, as a junior, they were runner up to Harrisburg.

As a freshman, White Dress had 34 points, tossed in 370 as a junior and so far in her senior year has 256 points.

“She does so much more than just score,” said head coach Laura Big Crow, “she bangs the boards every game, she plays defense, getting steals and keeping opposing teams from finding an offensive rhythm, she finds open teammates for assists and she’s a leader, we count on her to set the tone and be a role model.”
