Tammy Bettelyoun

DECEMBER 10, 1963 ~ FEBRUARY 26, 2018

Tamara Christine (Wedmore) Bettelyoun was born on December 10, 1963 in Compton, CA to Carolyn Ramberg and Bill Beckum. Tamara passed away on February 26, 2018 at her home in Tuthill, SD due to health issues.

Tamara was a very giving person, always putting things of others first. She loved to collect rocks, make jewelry, bead angels, and to relax her in truck and observe the beautiful nature around her home. Tamara grew up in Carlsbad, CA and would always talk about the beautiful sunsets on the ocean. She was raised by her mother, Carolyn Ramberg and her adoptive father, Patrick Wedmore in Carlsbad. Tamara attended high school in Carlsbad, CA and later on received her GED, she than went on and attended Ocean Side Beauty College until she found out she was pregnant with her first daughter, Tiffany Rogers.

Tammy left California with her husband, Harlen Bettelyoun, shortly after her first son Travis was born. Tammy spent a lot of years in Tuthill where she raised three children. She loved chatting with her friends over coffee and always talked about how dear her grandchildren were to her. She was involved with the Bennett County Community Action for several years and played an important role in the community. Tammy was a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, and will be dearly missed by the many people that knew her.

Tammy is survived by her spouse, Harlen Vernon Bettelyoun, Jr.; mother, Carolyn Remburg; siblings, Deborah Beckum- Hoornstra, Daniel Beckum, Woodrow Wedmore, and Jenny Wedmore-Bower; children, Tiffany Rogers, Travis Bettelyoun, Heather (Bettelyoun) Peterson, and Harlen V. Bettelyoun III; grandmother, Beth Tapp; grandchildren, Christine Peterson, Abigail Bettelyoun, Xander Peterson, and Elizabeth Bettelyoun.

Tammy was preceded in death by her adoptive father, Patrick Wedmore; grandfather, Robert Tapp; and brother-in-law, Thad Preston Bower.

Memorial Services were held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the Martin Grade School Activity Center in Martin, SD. Officiating was Pastor Lisa Danielson. Burial Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted with Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD.
